All structures such as dwellings, barns, storage buildings, stored vehicles, wood fences, etc., must be provided with a 30-foot firebreak. This 30 feet of defensible space can be provided by one of the
following methods:
Vacant parcels overgrown with weeds present a significant threat to adjacent structures and must be abated. This can be accomplished by one of the following methods:
Note: Large parcels (exceeding 2 acres) may only be required to provide a 30-foot firebreak around the perimeter.
Vacant parcels adjacent to residential subdivisions that have wood-shake shingle roofs must provide a 60-foot firebreak along the entire length of property abutting the subdivision.
Please be aware that the fire hazard shall remain abated through the month of October. Should the weeds/grass grow back beyond 6 inches in height, re-cut to below 2 inches.
